How to prepare for website development and not overpay

photo soon

Half the budget leaks into uncertainty. What to prepare before you start so the site comes out cheaper and faster.

The clearer you come to a studio, the cheaper and faster the site turns out. Most overpayment is reworks caused by uncertainty at the start. Here's what to prepare in advance.

Goal and examples

Define the site's goal (leads, sales, bookings) and gather 3–5 sites you like and dislike — and exactly why. This saves days of back-and-forth and sets the design direction from day one.

Content and structure

Most often a project stalls not on code but on copy and photos. Decide in advance who will prepare content and sketch a list of needed pages. The less «figuring out» mid-project, the smaller the bill.
