What ASO is and how it differs from SEO
SEO is about websites in Google. ASO is about apps in the App Store and Google Play. We explain the rules that lift an app in search.
ASO (App Store Optimization) is promoting an app in the App Store and Google Play so it's found in search and downloaded without ads. Essentially it's the same idea as SEO, but for apps in the stores instead of websites in Google.
What it shares with SEO
The same logic: pick the keywords people search you by, optimize your texts for them, improve behavioral metrics — and you climb in search. In both, the winner is the one who best answers the user's query.
How ASO differs
The main thing — the weight of downloads and ratings. For a store it's critical how many people downloaded the app in the last days and how many gave it 4–5 stars. Another difference: in the App Store the description doesn't affect search (only the title, subtitle and a hidden keyword field), while in Google Play the description is read by the algorithm.

The text part (title, subtitle, keywords, description), the visuals (icon, screenshots, video — they decide conversion), and behavior (downloads, ratings, reviews, retention). At RADOBO we help both build the app and prepare its store page so it rises in the store instead of getting lost among thousands of others.
