How many pages a site needs and what its structure should be

One page or fifty? The right site structure decides both usability and SEO. We break down how to plan it.

«How many pages should we make?» is a common question before ordering a site. The answer depends not on wishes but on the task and how many queries you want to be found for in Google. Structure is the foundation of both usability and SEO.

A landing — one page

For a single service, a promo or testing an idea, a landing is enough: the whole path from headline to button in one flowing screen. The downside — it's weaker for SEO, since it targets only a few queries.

A multi-page site

A separate page for each service, industry or city is a separate «door» from Google for a specific query. That's how a site grows in search: more quality pages for real queries = more traffic. But each page must be substantive, not «for show».

The basic structure

The minimum of a healthy site: home, service pages, about, cases/portfolio, reviews, contacts, a blog. Then industry and city pages for SEO. At RADOBO we first design the structure (a sitemap) around your queries, and only then draw — so the site is ready to grow in search from the start.
